Jesus remained on earth for forty days after|
His resurrection, though He was seen only ten
times in those forty days. He continued to
teach and minister and perform great wonders.
He spoke to His disciples at length about the
kingdom of God, and taught them all they
should know, in order for them to continue
His ministry and good works.
On the fortieth day, Jesus appeared to over
five hundred people, including the eleven
disciples, who were all gathered at the mount
of Olives; and He said,
"All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father, and of the Son,
and of the Holy Ghost.;
Teaching them to observe all things
whatsoever I have commanded you:
and lo, I am with you always,
even unto the end of the world."
Jesus lifted His hands and blessed them;|
and as He did, He was lifted up to heaven,
and disappeared into the clouds.
The disciples' hearts were filled with joy|
as they worshipped Jesus. They went to the
temple in Jerusalem, praising and worshipping
Him continually; and everywhere they went,
they preached the word of God, and many
wonderful signs followed.
